Bordeaux is carving itself a niche in the high-end tourist market with its new brochure for professionals, presenting all the great things Bordeaux has to offer by way of hotels, restaurants and shopping, for example. This new promotional tool proved a great success when the Tourist Office team went to Moscow and Saint-Petersburg in November. Bordeaux is to have a Wine-based Culture and Tourism Centre by 2013
A 10,000m² wine-themed exhibition centre is to be opened in France’s biggest wine-producing region in 2013. Bordeaux hopes the centre will become a powerful regional symbol dedicated to culture and tourism. It also aspires to be an example of excellence in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development.

Something totally unique in Bordeaux, the Ice Room
Following in the footsteps of Paris, Saint-Tropez, Milan, Stockholm, London and Copenhagen, Bordeaux now has its own ICE BAR– and not just any old ice-bar at that, because this one is one of the biggest in Europe! “Eloge de Bordeaux” (Ode to Bordeaux) - Galerie des Beaux-Arts, until March 14, 2010
This exhibition is showing over one hundred and fifty paintings, drawings, engravings and precious documents from the XVIII, XIX and XX centuries, from Gabriel and Joseph Vernet’s era right through to that of Georges de Sonneville, Albert Marquet, André Lhote and Jean Dupas. On display are remarkable views of the city and port of Bordeaux, as well as scenes from the surrounding area: Lormont, Floirac, Libourne and the Arcachon bay. Read more |
