This summer, try the fabulous food on offer at the latest restaurant to win a Gault-Millau gold award – the Pressoir d’Argent
In early June this year, the gastronomic restaurant at the Regent Grand Hotel, Le Pressoir d’Argent, was proud to see chef Pascal Nibeaudeau receive a GaultMillau gold award. Keen to give as many people as possible the chance to try his subtle, elegant creations, the restaurant now has a lunchtime “stopover” menu, consisting of two dishes and priced at €34, so that even the most hurried or purse-conscious diners can savour the quality of this award-winning cuisine. 1001 ways to explore the Médoc, with the Winery d’Arsac
Situated just outside Bordeaux, the Winery offers all sorts of unusual ways of exploring the Médoc and its vineyards, with original and innovative activities that take place all year round. This year the Winery is running four-wheel drive safaris, where you can see the various stages of the wine-making process plus the château d’Arsac and its wine-vaults – as well as admiring the works of art currently on show in the Chateau and the Winery, and trying a variety of foods and wines chosen specially because they complement each other so well. 2010 : the Bordeaux Wine Festival (24-27 June)
In 2008, the four-day Bordeaux Wine Festival (“Bordeaux Fête le Vin”) attracted nearly 450,000 visitors, and the 2010 edition, with the city of Quebec as guest of honour, promises to be quite spectacular. The festival is an ideal opportunity to spend a few days really getting to know the city of Bordeaux with its famous quays, and to make the most of all the region has to offer.
