From 24th to 26th June, the Place des Quinconces will be taken over by three unique concerts featuring classical music, jazz and French language contemporary groups.  Three special evenings to help you forget your daily cares right in the heart of Bordeaux.  To book your places, use: www.bordeauxfetelevin.com, the Bordeaux Tourist Office, the Box Office or France Billet.
The program features local artists such as the Hangar and 0800, the authentic Quebec sound of Natasha Saint Pier and The Lost Fingers, the internationally known jazz artists Gilles Peterson, Roberto Fonseca and Avishai Cohen and a special concert by the Orchestre National de Bordeaux Aquitaine with the soprano Béatrice Uria Monzon and the tenor Michael Fabiano.

It's now 10 years since Cow Parade has been travelling the world. This year it's the turn of Bordeaux to welcome the 58 superstars.  They will be exhibited all around the town until 14th September, decorated by designers, photographers, sculptors, painters, modellers who mostly hail from the Bordeaux area but who are all renowned nation-wide. This colourful exhibition will end on 30th September with a grand auction sale of these works of art, with proceeds going to the Banque Alimentaire de Bordeaux et de Gironde  - the local food bank charity.

Some 15 top-flight European chefs from Bordeaux, Aquitaine and further a field will be present for the 2010 edition of this annual gourmet gathering, under the banner of the "Etoiles d'Epicure". From 17th June to 4th July, the Allées de Tourny will be host to some 23 mouth-watering stands, demonstration evenings with superb menus dreamt up by the invited chefs, and special tasting of rare wines.

From 1st to 4th July, the Niel barracks and the sub-marine base will be humming with creative vitality.  Young, talented, artists - all under thirty, and from all parts of the artistic spectrum (theatre, music, circus arts, dance, fashion, poetry, architecture, pictorial art, sculpture, etc.) - will be invited to take over the whole location and show off their talents.
'Imaginez maintenant à Bordeaux' is organised by the Youth Ministry as part of its support for experimentation by the younger generation, and it allows these talented people to express themselves and work together in a creative and participative spirit.

This summer, the Grand Theatre is host to a very original initiative by Giulio Achilli.
The work of all those unsung heroes behind the scenes to create the magic of live shows will come to life - the electricians, sculptors, make-up artists, machine operators, sewing machine operators for curtains and costumes, etc.Simply follow the signs and many of the secrets of modern live theatre will be revealed.  Better still, take advantage of the guided tours offered by the Tourist Office.
