Bordeaux attends the IWTM Top Resa Exhibition in Paris
 
Bordeaux Tourist Office will be presenting its wine tourism offer to professionals operating in the tourism sector, from September 22 to 25, in the “Wine Travel Village” area of the International Wine Travel Market (IWTM) (Porte de Versailles Hall 7.2 Stand L3). This is the first time there has been a special wine tourism section at the IFTM exhibition, and Bordeaux is an obvious participant as the N°1 destination for wine-tasting getaways. Read more

The Burdigala Hotel has been awarded star number 5
 
On June 11th, eleven French 4* hotels were awarded a fifth star, in recognition of the quality of comfort and welcome afforded to their guests. One of these was the Burdigala Hotel in Bordeaux, the first establishment in south west France to be designated a 5* hotel. This achievement rewarded the many years of effort expended in striving to improve levels of customer service and comfort. Read more
3D maps of the most historic areas of Bordeaux
 
Bordeaux Bordeaux is a city that welcomes creativity and experimentation – and it is also very proud of its heritage. Towards the end of 2009 these two aspects of life in Bordeaux will coincide, when three 3D maps of the old town are made available to visitors, who will be able to see at a glance the routes that will help them explore three key tourist areas and admire their architecture and principle monuments. The maps will be opened to the public as from September 19th and 20th, dates for this year’s National Heritage Days in France. Read more

Evento - art is coming to town! October 9 – 18, 2009
 
This year will see the launch of the Evento arts festival, something that is sure to become a major event on the Bordeaux arts and culture calendar – and what’s more, it’s completely free! Evento 2009 is a totally new city arts experience. Following the path laid out for them by artist/architect Didier FAUSTINO, visitors will be able to experience all sorts of events and entertainment in the very heart of the city: exhibitions, performances, concerts, debates and meetings…and the whole event will be both friendly – and fun!
