THE AQUITAINE MUSEUM
THE AQUITAINE MUSEUM

The Aquitaine Museum is a history museum
which bases its content on historical, archeological and ethnological findings. It is located in the former Faculty of Arts and Sciences that was built in the 19th century.

From prehistory to the present day, it reveals the history of the five departments which make up Aquitaine.

A priviledged position is given to the city of Bordeaux, which has been a sea and river port since ancient times and a commercial crossroads for the produce of this rich agricultural region.

Art dealers, missionaries or amateurs of exotic art have also donated Egyptian, Mediterranean, Oceanian, African and Eskimo articles.
