ACCESS BY COACH OR CAR

By coach

The first Sunday of every month (except in the summer)is a traffic-free Sunday and a program of events is organised in the town-centre.
Bordeaux is always happy to welcome tourist coaches and in order to improve facilities for them has just opened a special coach-park (fee-paying) in the town-centre. The coach-park, which is situated on the Esplanade des Quinconces (access via "les allées de Bristol"), is open 24 hours a day and there is no time-limit for parking.

In addition to this main facility, there are now set down/pick up areas in the vicinity of the hypercentre, on the left bank, and also on the right bank..

Finally, as some streets are extremely narrow and there are also various traffic restrictions in operation, recommended routes for coaches have been drawn up.

ACCES BY BOAT, CAMPING CAR, BIKE OR BY FOOT VIA THE MIDI CANAL AND THE GREEN ROAD
It is now possible to link the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean sea by boat and also by bike, (more than 500km long) through  :

 the Voie Verte
 the towpath
the cyclepath

The route along the canal du midi is about 400km and not only offers you the opportunity to discover prestigious sites, beautiful landscape, but also provides access to forgotten places and to meet with the local people.

Today, the banks of the canal du midi ‘atlantic side” recently redeveloped into ‘Green way” Voie Verte, and is located under the shade of majectic trees (more than than 100 years old) from Toulouse to Bordeaux. Canal du Midi “atlantic side” is now the favorite destination for cycling.
